Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology
“As is your Pathology, so is your practice,” stated Sir William Osler. In other words, one cannot become a competent clinician without full knowledge of pathology.
Oral pathology is a branch of dentistry that represents a correlation of basic sciences with clinical dentistry. It is the scientific study of diseases that combines knowledge with investigative procedures helping in the diagnosis and further treatment of diseases. In modern day medicine it also helps in assessing the prognosis of the disease.
With this in mind we seek to promote and encourage education, training, research and standards of services provided in Head & Neck pathology. We hope to transform the nature of dental education and practice in ways that will dramatically improve the way we serve our patients, and the community.
