Achievement
The Department of Microbiology has been recognized as the Research centre to carry out Research leading to Ph.D. Degree by the Bangalore University from the academic year 2014-15 onwards. The department has received funds (Grants) from various funding agencies which include Vision Group of Science and Technology, Govt. of Karnataka for the year 2013 -14 and funds from University Grants Commission, New Delhi for the year 2014-15.

The Department has excellent and consistent academic records with 90% first class in undergraduate and post graduate University Examinations. Pioneering achievements of the Department include building up of a Society for Microbiologists and releasing an annual departmental magazine.
UNIVERSITY TOPPERS
Achieved excellent academic result at university level with 100% pass and the students have bagged university rank in last two consecutive years (2012-13 and 2013-14).
Twenty eight student projects have been successfully completed in association with NDRI Bangalore, GKVK, NIMHANS and IISc to mention the few and out of which as many as 13 projects have published in various high impact factor International research Journals.
