Placement Cell
The Oxford College of Business Management has an independent placement office focused to cater to the needs of leading organizations in conducting campus interviews for the final year students of MBA, M.COM, and BBM, B.COM. The office is assisted by student representatives from various branches of study. The placement office ensures and takes care to provide the best arrangements and hospitality to the HR team from various companies.

Procedure

  • Interested companies contact placement officer, Principal at: vijayalakshmi.hr@theoxford.edu / placementshsr@theoxford.edu
  • Companies are requested to give details of the job profile – role offered, pay package, place of posting, eligible departments. 
  • Companies are also allowed to showcase any presentation, videos, data or other information they want the students to see.
  • After the application deadline for the students, the resumes are scrutinized by the company and are shortlisted.
  • Shortlisted students get notified.
  • The placement office allots the dates for the campus interviews.
  • The job postings along with the eligibility criteria will be displayed on the college website.
  • Students are required to check their emails regularly for information and details regarding placement drives.
  • Students who are eligible for any placement drive will have to give his/her consent before attending the same to the concerned coordinator. Failing which the candidate will be marked absent for the particular drive.
  • After the completion of the selection procedure on campus, company is required to announce the final list of the students on the same day itself.
  • If a student is selected, the job is registered against him/her and he/she would not be allowed to appear for more interviews as per placement policy.
  • Students should come in formal dress along with hard copies of the following:
    • Updated resume.
    • Photostat of relevant documents duly attested.
Note: Students coming in Jeans, T-Shirts, Jackets, Slippers, Trainers (Sports Shoes/wear) on Placement drive will not be allowed to attend the placement activity.
  • The students should maintain punctuality for all events.
  • All the queries regarding placement drives etc will be handled by the student coordinators.

Rules and Regulations

Eligibility

  • All full time final year students of The oxford College of Business Management are eligible to participate in the recruitment process for placements through the Training and Placement (T&P) Cell.
  • All students seeking Placement Assistance are required to register for the same by providing additional information as required by T&P and also sign an undertaking in the prescribed format.
  • The student will also have to give their three sector preferences before the start of placement process to the T&P department.
  • The students are also advised to update their mobile numbers with T & P cell, since all placements related information will be shared with them through SMS also. It will be compulsory for all the students to appear in the Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) of a company, if the company is from his/her preferred specialization.

Verification

  • The eligible students are required to submit their CV and also upload their photograph in the space provided.
  • It is expected that a student shall NOT add any ambiguous/ wrong/fraudulent/misleading information in his/her resume. Resume checks will continue throughout the placement process.

General Advice

  • Students must carry their I-cards at all times during interviews & screening tests. No one would be allowed to enter the test/interview venue without the I-card.
  • The date/time/venue of the interviews will be subject to changes which, at times, may be at a short notice.
  • Students must carry a complete file with a few copies of the resume, original certificates (if possible) and copies thereof while appearing for the interviews.

Different Activities of the Placement Cell:

  • The placement office functions with facilities for PPT, written test, group discussions and mock interviews.
  • One senior Professor from each department takes part in the panel of mock interview as subject expert.
  • Advise the students on placement procedures, directing them on resume preparation, and the various activities related to institute-industry interaction.
  • Networking through the alumni association for further development of placement activity.
  • Train the student to bridge the gap between Industries –Academia.

Pre-placement activates (Training & Development)  
Identify and train students as a pre-screening procedure
The objective of the pre screen is to prepare students for final interview. Towards this, mock interview is conducted for students, with interview panel members comprising of director, departmental co-coordinator and placement officer.

Stage 2-   Learning to succeed which comprises:

  • Individual feedback to each student based on the stage 1 activities;
  • 144 hours of training based on general corporate requirements for employability.
