COURSES |
The Oxford School of Nursing is affiliated to Karnataka State Diploma in Nursing Examination Board, Bangalore.(K. S. D. N. E. B). The course is designed to provide a balanced education to transform students into professional nurses, who are self-directing and responsible citizens.
Objectives:
The nurse on completion of this course will be able to:
- Demonstrate competency in providing health care to individual, sick or well, using nursing process.
- To develop and demonstrates competency.
- Apply knowledge from the humanities, biological and behavioral sciences in functioning as a nurse.
- To develop and demonstrate teaching, interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Develop and demonstrate leadership and decision making qualities.
- Develop and demonstrate ethical values in personal and professional life.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission
- Minimum and Maximum age for admission will be 17 and 35 years respectively.
For ANM/LHV, there is no age bar.
- Minimum education:
a) 10+2/ puc or equivalent qulification with science /Arts / Commerce having secured 35%aggregate
b) Those who have cleared 10+2 vocational ANM course (revised after 2001) from the school recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
- Admissions of students shall be once a year.
- Students should be medically fit.
Syllabus
The syllabus of the Diploma in Nursing Course follows the pattern prescribed by the Karnataka State Diploma in Nursing Examinant Board (K. S. D. N. E. B.), Bangalore. Programme of Study. This is a 3 Years & 6 months full time diploma course recognized by the Government of Karnataka, Karnataka Nursing Council (KNC) and the Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi.

Eligibility for Admission to Examination
A Candidates shall be eligible for the admission to the State Council/Board Examination if the Principle of the school certifies that:
- She / he has completed not less than eleven month of the course.
- She / he has attended 75% of the formal instructions given on each subject and 75% of the clinical field experience in each area/subject separately during the academic year, council/however, the total clinical/field experience prescribed must be completed before the final Board examination and before the issue of diploma.
- The overall performance of the student and her/his conduct during the entire academic year has been satisfactory.
- The student has passed in the internal assessment in each subject i.e., both in the teaching and practicals by securing 50% marks separating in each theory and practicalS.
